What We Do
At Highbury Nursing Home, we have an overriding dedication to provide the best possible care for our residents. We are one of the most forward-thinking and respected care home providers in the Midlands and can provide residential nursing care, respite stays and specialist dementia care.
Our expert staff provide high-quality care to suit the individual needs of each resident. All our staff are chosen based on their warmth and compassion, in addition to their expertise. As a result, we have a stable staffing team with low turnover.
We benefit from a strong sense of community, with residents’ families and staff working together to give the best quality of care possible to older adults, living with frailty or dementia.
Central to our practice is the understanding that Highbury is our residents’ home and our staff simply work within it. By providing expert health care and excellent day-to-day services, we enable residents to live with maximum individuality and independence.
Residents can enjoy a wide range of daily activities, including group activities and one-to-one socialisation. We also nurture excellent relationships with visiting professionals, including GP’s, dentists, hairdressers, and complementary therapists for on-site treatments.
COVID-19 Response
Visiting care homes is difficult during this time and we understand how distressing this can be for our residents and their relatives. Although we cannot physically welcome loved ones into the home at present, we have a side door which we can use for residents to chat to their loved-ones face-to-face.
During the pandemic, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) continues to monitor and evaluate our Emergency Support Framework (ESF) to ensure the safety of our residents, staff, and families.

1. Care Quality Commission
CQC Inspections
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates and inspects all adult social care services in England; including public, private, and voluntary sectors.
Inspections are rated on how safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led they are. The four rating levels are outstanding, good, requires improvement, and inadequate.

Emergency Support Framework (ESF)
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CQC maintains contact with us through existing monitoring arrangements and support calls.
Monitoring covers four assessment areas:
- Safe Care and Treatment
- Staffing arrangements
- Protection from Abuse
- Assurance Processes, Monitoring and Risk Management
2. Quality Assurance
We are committed to achieving the highest standards of care. To do this we follow a continuous programme of quality improvement that involves residents, relatives, and staff.
Our Quality Management System involves regular audits, inspections, and feedback. We ensure a high level of quality awareness through regular staff training and management.
We hold and are guided by national Quality Assurance standards.
3. Our Staff
Our registered nurses and friendly carers understand the importance of delivering an individualised service with care and dignity. We benefit from stable staffing, low turnover, and a strong sense of community between staff, residents, and their families. All our staff teams are supervised by managers with extensive training.
Thank You To Our Community

Our Residents’ Families
Thank you to our residents’ families, who have been so thoughtful during the lockdown; bringing in toiletries and treats for their relatives and sharing words of encouragement with our staff.
The Olive Primary School
We also want to say a big thank you to the children and staff at The Olive Primary School, who have kept our spirits up during the pandemic. We were delighted to receive a hamper from the school and our residents have enjoyed exchanging drawings and cards with the pupils. We hope you enjoyed the postcards we sent to you!
Visiting during the Pandemic
We understand the importance of family contact and have worked with families to enable face-to-face, socially distanced visits through our side door.
